This is an awesome second outing released in 1973 by German krautrock/jazz-rock group Kraan. To my ears, it sounds like what krautrock encompasses; locked-in, extended motorik rhythm passages blended with jazz freak-out improvisations. Fun fact: kraan means “faucet” in Dutch, but the band apparently were not aware of this when choosing a name as the word does not have a meaning in German, and they chose it because it was easy to remember. Great stuff and another new-to-me band, glad to have their work on my radar now. Recommended for fans of Can and Soft Machine.
