Not to be confused with the other jazz-funk keyboard player named Lonnie Liston Smith (I know, what are the odds?!?), while similarities in style are certainly present and both artists are great in their own right, Lonnie is holding it the fuck down on this top-notch soul-jazz essential! Not much to say that this record is an absolute burner and is the kind of stuff that would make Bill Evans cry. Features Chuck Rainey and Ron Carter on bass, Billy Cobham on drums, and other notable players. Highly recommended!
